I came to Cremona in 1981 to learn the construction of a violin and the restoration of bowed
instruments because Cremona became the cradle of violin making more than 300 years ago.
Still today, there are numerous workshops making instruments according to the tradition
inherited from Stradivari.
In 1990 I opened my workshop, just a few steps from the historical center of the city.
I make violins, violas, cellos - I make repairs and restoration on bowed instruments and it is
a great satisfaction when an old broken instrument can be played again.
I conceived this site so that musicians can have immediate access to information regarding the
world of violin making and more particularly on the functioning of the instrument, the sound,
the repair, how to select a violin or other instrument for oneself.
Moreover, there are additional subjects you can refer to: how to keep your instrument in good
shape, materials used for the making of an instrument, a price list and a general presentation of the City of Cremona.
