Il Fast Electric Racer (E.R.) 400 is born from the idea to use the same proportions of the pylon Quick 500 for a fast easy model for a Speed 400. The original project has been modified in order to use an electric motor included in the fuselage and not exposed like the Q500- for easy building and for aerodinamic reasons too (low power= minimum possible drag). The wing is build around a 6mm carbon spar, the profile used is a SD 7003. During the building process this spar act as a jiig too. The fuselage is based upon 2mm balsa sides doubled from the nose to aft of the wing saddle with the same wood cross grained and triangle stock for the corners, no formers were used but the one for the motor.

It took just a week of after dinner time to build the fuse and another one for fitting the whole flying sistem.The maiden flight was an anti climax,except for slight tendence to turn right due to a little twist in the wing - it happens sometimes to everyone!-. The Fast E.R. is very easy to fly but can be very exciting if pushed a little in a racer mode. It is aerobatic too with a very good roll rate.

The Fast Electric Racer (E.R.) is easy to build -you can alternatively adopt a traditional built wing-, fun and fast for a Speed 400 model without being difficult to manage, due to its not so small dimensions and good behaviour.
