"ART and SICILY" the best way to identify the one man show of one of the most productive sicilian artists of the last thirty years.

The subjects of his paintings are enquiries into the nature of man and his Sicily, with a transfiguration of the real facts which become a new reality, evocations of experiences and a refusal of an urbanistic nature.

Thereforce what you will be able to admire is a Sicily seen with anger towards the same old exploiters and also the class consciousness and hegemony of the few, so that in front of the thousands of "deus ex macina" of society the artist creates a gallery of "anti-heroes" discovering them even in flowers and in landscapes.

It is in function of the intention that the art and Sicily of Salvatore Giambanco shoula be seen.

Salvatore Giambanco

....a man generous with colour, whose fingers dance to the notes of an old tune, to create an unknown chomatic vibration which separating itself from the brush acquires an identity of its own;  it takes on a solul of its own, in the ancestral desire of an encounter.

Emilia Pilato

I emerge myself in Salvatore Giambanco’s chomatic universe and the emotional impact is immediate, passionate almost violent .  The canvanes impose themselves with their intensity and they remind me of what they once were, white canvas....

That canvas which is absence of colour and at the same time the possibility of being every colour, nothing and bondless, emptiness and with infinite possibilities to contain a stroke, a sign, a splash of colour, an exesperience, an emotion.... That white canvas has been attacked, stroked,  possessed, loved, trasformed by a capable alchemist: a man generous with a images and stories, memories and fantasy....
