Questions:

1-Well, my master you're back from hell and I can swear you get a superior knowledge of the humanity ! So, how many months in otherside(hell) are you lived to write this colossal opera named "dim Carcosa"? Some word about new entry in teìhe band too ?
We started writing "DIM CARCOSA" after several "FATHERLAND" tours, the moment the deal with HAMMERHEART RECORDS was a fact. Our former label and HHR were negotiating about our label transfer. We locked ourselves away in our rehearsal room after we communicated by demo tapes containing basic ideas or even almost completed songs. It was a hard and hectic work but I think we can be pleased with the end result. New entry in the band is keyboardplayer DOMINGO SMETS who used to play in avantgarde Metal band RENAISSANCE and Crust group AGATHOCLES (where he played guitars though).

2-Congratulation for all, for your little book and for your music, for me "dim Carcosa" it's the best rapresentation of ART ! So, in "Exile" you was inspired by Baudelaire: what's his best performance for you? Which side of Him you like more of others ?
I particularly like "LES FLEURS DU MAL" which is his darkest work and contains true masterpieces. Not so much his words were a source of inspiration but the general mood and atmosphere of certain poems were. I created a similar world in "EXILE", the shadow of MILTON's "PARADISE LOST" was close as well. As my personal world also contains similar dark elements a link is obvious.

3-In "Victory of Valhalla" you speak about the otherworld, but today is there a way to conquer the immortality and the life eternal ? My soul can get the immortality without divine sense o divine presence in "Valhalla", Paradise" or other fucking place ?
Actually it was a metaphor. In ancient times the warrior cast were supposed to hold certain codes of honour. This track symbolizes the longing for the spirit of the ancestors who chose death over disgrace. The lyrics are like a voice from a ghost belonging to a forgotten past addressing us modern souls who often are not able to sacrifice anything for a higher cause. A tribute to ancient/medieval codes of honour. Indeed I am aware the middle ages also were an epoque of pestilence, superstition, ignorance. However I cannot help to admire those people who lived up to their ideals and who displayed an immense courage and bravery. The knight in shining armour is a fairytale but each country has its own examples of bravery rooted in history. Heroes of flesh and blood who contributed to the splendour of the own civilization. During medieval times it often was a case of Victory or Valhalla. Loyalty and courage were still highly respected, values often looked upon as worthless and too naive by this ironic and selfish modern world.

4-".and the horns called x war", once time the warrior spirit was a model, a exemple of life, I think today any ancient warriors can represent a stimulus to make better the things of everyday and rapture the success and the glory. Who is the perfect modern warrior for ya ?
Modern warriors who set an example? May be every soldier who stands alone outnumbered by enemies but who continues the fight. I admire small nations who dare to fight back the entire world as happened a few times in recent history. Of course when facing the world alone it is a battle impossible to win but still it reveals a spirit of bravery I can appreciate.

5-"North Sea", an homage to the sailormen of ancient lands I suppose. If you can stand alone on the edge of shores, close your eyes and open your mind..please Sir tell me what you see !
Endless horizons, the wind carving the face, hearing the shrieks of seagulls and the sound of the timeless sea that is the watery grave of many a sailor man throughout thousands of years.

6-"Gotterdamming", the twilight of the gods..mmmmmm...can a man live without nobody God ? Can a man overcome himself and live like Nietzsche teached? Do you believe in a "superman", "Ecce Homo" or anyway in a man without fear to be and die alone in the universe?
I think it is our faith anyway, we are born alone and will die alone. As I described in "DEATH IN MIDSUMMER" taken from the DANSE MACABRE album "TOTENTANZ": "No light at the end of the tunnel, no god to save one's soul, the atheist's curse." Some say I am wrong and that there is a higher entity or an after life and that I will understand they were right when I die. Anyway, I always lose this bet: If I'm right and nothing awaits after death I will not be able to enjoy my victory and right prediction, isn't that ironic? Ah! Ah!

7-A little concept for you, a theme : S.P.Q.R.: Rome the glory of the past, the shame of the present days. The greta ancient of Rome slepping down the ruins and the people in Italy don't remember the past victories and...spit on my ancient land. What do you think?
It is an unfortunate evolution everywhere in Europe. Only a minority of people care for the cultural heritage and knowledge, most do not care if they are born in Rome, Brussels or Timbouctou and their ancestor's achievements. Also the current political climate is one of self denial. Personally I do not find it racist to cultivate the own roots or past, every person on this globe should have the right to feel proud of his ancient land's history. The past made us what we are today. I have wandered the streets of Eternal Roma and I felt nothing but deep respect for the ancient remains I witnessed. Hail ancient Roma.

8-eh!eh! CARCOSA ! Carnosa could be in everywhere and could be in nothingplace...Gunther i think you dream Carnosa. Please, describe it and help me to enter in your dream.
My first introduction to Carcosa was The Satanic Bible! No further explanation on Carcosa, only a short poem (taken from "Cassilda's Song") referring to this mysterious name. Enough to awaken my interest, though.
On my quest for Carcosa I entered the fascinating worlds of Thelemic Orders, Crowley and his occult society, The Necronomicon by Abdul-al-Hazred alias the Mad Arab (the alter ego of H.P. Lovecraft?), Masonry, The Knights Templar, The Rosicrucian Order, The Grand Lodge, Tantric Alchemy. Mystical esoteric worlds. The American writer Chambers described Carcosa as a mythical place. Then there is Carcaso, the ancient Latin name for Carcassone, a fortified town in the South of France. It truly pleases me when historical facts and mythology/mystery meet. The power of the esoteric yet wordly Order of the Knights Templar was widespread, also in medieval Carcaso whose name strongly reminds of mythical Carcosa. Inspired by or linked to? Who can tell? The circle completed though! Sometimes, only every now and then, myth and fact meet. Those rare and precious moments I cherish. "Dim" means vague referring to the mysterious character of mythical Carcosa. The title reflects perfectly the universe of ANCIENT RITES, where history and the darkside become one.

9-Somethin' of less intensive: in your life is there more time for love or hate ?
At an earlier stage of my life I often was too much consumed by hatred.
Now I learned to work with my hatred in a creative way, constructive towards my own path. In a way it does not eat my own soul. Anger can be a source of inspiration. Persons I dislike I OR ignore OR I channelize my animosity in inspiration, it is extra willpower to prove those who try to grind me down wrong. Many would like to see us fail but I find pleasure in realising our work has reached many and that our band has built up a cult status respected world wide, something those who want us to fail frustrates. Often I am confronted with frustrated people who try anything cheap to have a go at me or the band, anonymous threats, hate mail, gossip. It is rather funny actually, it means we are worth hating. On their frustration I feast.
People are not worth hating.

10-Anton La Vey leaved us 3 years ago, do you read the "Satanic Bible" and I would know if him leaves in you something of interesting.
A. LaVey was a fascinating personality. "THE SATANIC BIBLE" and "THE SATANIC RITUALS" he wrote are an authority within the Satanic scene. To some of his views I could relate but I never was interested in joining his Church of Satan because no order beholds the complete truth. I always preferred to walk the left-hand path on an individual basis.

11-What is your favourite beer ? What advice to our webriders?
I only drink tea. No just kiddin' of course! Belgian beers belong to the best in the world. Like France, Italia, Spain, Portugal have a wine tradition we have a strong beer culture. Every little town has its own beers with typical taste. Belgian beers I really like are GUEZE BEER (special recipe to achieve that one, only achieved through a combination of local biological conditions) KRIEK LINDEMANS (fruit beer), LUCIFER (blond heavier beer), LEFFE (dark or blond strong abbey beer), KASTEELBIER (black or blond very heavy beer), SATAN (heavy beer). I do like STELLA ARTOIS as a normal pint.

12-Ok, last words for you. I hope to embrace you someday but for now I thamk you again for your excellent featuring on my mag.projects. Congratulations again and..GOOD LUCK !!!!! HAIL EUROPE ! HAIL S.P.Q.R.! HAIL ANCIENT ONES ! HAIL ANCIENT RITES ! FOREVER FADING IN ONE !
Thank you my old comrade. We will meet sooner or later. Hold the banners high.Metal in our veins, ancient Europa in our hearts.
