Jane Austen Associations

Jane Austen Society of North America

This site is the most famous as far as Jane Austen's Associations are concerned. It presents the Author's Life, as well as the possibility to download the texts with all her complete works. Each year an annual conference is held on a theme provided from her novels. A literary journal, Persuasions, is published each December 16 and mailed to members after the new year. As they state:

Vision

Because literature has the power to change and enrich our lives, we want to see more people reading the great authors, with special emphasis on Jane Austen.

Mission

Our mission is to foster among the widest number of readers the study, appreciation, and understanding of Jane Austen’s works, her life, and her genius.

A Tour "JANE AUSTEN: Beside the Sea, June 21 - July 2, 2001" is its most peculiar offer. The itinerary is routed to places Jane Austen lived -- Steventon, Bath, Southampton, Chawton and Winchester; to places she
visited -- Kent, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Sevenoaks; and to sites noted in the novels -- Ramsgate, Brighten, Weymouth.
