Lighting

The present law foresees that the working places have to be lightened by direct natural light.
We need, however, to specify some points:

- the windows must not be too far from the working places;

- the walls must be of a light colour;

- the glazed surfaces must be kept clean;

- the desks must be placed so as to be lightened from left and to avoid the dazzlement of the employee and the formation of shadows on the desk.

The artificial light cannot substitute the natural one: it can only be integrative.
It must be adequate to the job as for intensity, quality and distribution.
Where necessary, the general lighting must be integrated with a spot light, considering that the first must not be less than 1/5 of the second.
In general, as for the source of lighting, we can say that:
- both lamps and glazed surfaces must be cleaned periodically;
- the fluorescent tube must be protected from falling;
- you need to place the lamps so as to avoid both dazzlement and shadows;
- the lamps must be protected against direct contacts and the penetration of liquids;
- it is suitable that the quality of lighting is such as the IRC is not less than 85% (from 85% to 100% the quality is very good) and the light temperature is among 3800 and 4500 grades Kelvin (in this case the tonality of light matches the natural one).
As for the computers, the lighting must not be less than 1000 lux.
