I
am an Italian girl and I was born in Siracusa (Sicily) in 1970. I completed my
university-level studies in Rome, I went to Milan where I started working. My
hobbies are reading (novels and history books), movies and travelling.
After high school leave (languages and literature specialisation), I graduated as Interpreter/Translator for the English and Russian Languages. Then, I attended a 4-month-master in the Russian Language at the “A. Puskin” Institute for Foreign students in Moscow. During this period, I travelled in the former Soviet Union, getting to know its different and various realities and learning to speak Russian correctly and fluently. In 1993, after coming back from Russia, I obtained the degree in Simultaneous Interpreting for Russian.
Regarding
English, I attended various
practical language courses in the United Kingdom. These courses were aimed at
improving the practice and the knowledge of English it “on field”.
In 1995, I started working and following are my most relevant work experiences:
1995-1997 -
Secretary/Interpreter to the owner in a textile company. My main duties were:
-
Translations from English
to Italian and from Italian into English
-
Travel organisation
-
Interpreter to the owner
during his missions abroad (I travelled with him in Austria, and former Soviet
Union)
-
Agenda
1998-2001
- Secretary to the Project Manager responsible for
the Russia department in a consultancy company in Milan. In this position I have been
in charge not only of all the needs of my direct head of department but also of
coordinating various experts, taking care of all their necessities from the
agenda to organization of travels, editing of documents and so on.
As working-everyday languages I used both English and Russian; in-fact,
among my duties, I was the coordinator between the head office in Milan and the
company subsidiary in Moscow and between the Company and the European Union.
Furthermore, I translated all Company documents form English and Russian into
Italian and from Italian to English and Russian.
In
the end, I worked for a while in the marketing office of the Italian branch of a American publishing house specialised in
telecommunications.
