ACUSTIMANTICO is a "post acoustic" ensemble from Rome, Italy.

Taking its major inspiration from the music and the tradition of the Mediterranean area, the group plays a repertoire of original songs with the aim of creating a link between music, sounds and literary narration, trying to go beyond any stylistic and cultural frontier for the sake of Art as a common language that overcomes all barriers.

The music of ACUSTIMANTICO, then, is both physical and dreaming, refined and simple, immediate, "popular".

The group was born in 1998 and has released its first CD in 2000.

Live sets include some of the major clubs and theatres in Rome and Italy: in April '99 played with the international ethnic group Inti Illimani in Rome to commemorate the desaparecidos of Plaza de Mayo, Argentina.

In September '99 ACUSTIMANTICO won the National Competition for Unsigned Bands "SONICA '99" and recorded the song "Fiori di Loto" for a compilation by major label EMI.

ACUSTIMANTICO takes part in a project for theatre by actor/director Roberto Latini, called "Parole, Polvere & Vapore", which has been produced in 2001 by Teatro di Roma.

In June 2000 ACUSTIMANTICO has been invited to La Fete de laMusique in Berlin, Germany, having great success among the audience of Tempodrom and the Quasimodo Club.

ACUSTIMANTICO plays a regular live set (see technical ryder) and a totally acoustic street set (no amplification at all).
