		President's Message   Dear colleagues:   On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 15th World Congress of the International Union of Phlebology, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to Rio de Janeiro, “The Wonderful City”. Rio de Janeiro is a vibrant and accommodating city with many attractions. In October the weather is pleasant and therefore one of the best times to visit the "Gateway of South America" . The wonderful beaches such as the famous “Copacabana and Ipanema”,  “Sugar Loaf” and the stunnig sight of  “Cristo Redentor” in the “Corcovado Mount” should motivate you to attend the 15th World Congress of Phlebology. Hotels ranging from luxury to modest, surround the magnificent “Rio Centro”, the convention center. The Scientific Committee is preparing a superb program including keynote lectures, symposiums, roundtables, workshop, live demonstrations, poster and video sessions. The Scientific Committee will address a variety of subjects including all aspects of the Venous and Lymphatic diseases, from thromboembolism to esthetic problems, epidemiological, anatomical and physiological topics. The basic research and the clinical trials involved will be given special attention by the committee.
