Natalino De Michelis was born at Riva Ligure, near Imperia (Itlay).
His father, well-known floriculturist, introduced the young boy to
the world of plants and flowers. It was just throught the contact with
the most different shapes and colours that in Natalino De Michelis came
out an artistic sensitiveness firstly inclined towards the acquisition
of a making up ability which made him earn numerous and impressive reviews
throught his presence in floreal exhibitions and competitions with compositions
which reminded sculpture very strongly.
Afterwards he devoted himself to drawing and painting passionately,
introducing all the colours and the shapes of his world of flowers, sea
and sun. His works are quite realistic and somethimes they are interpreted
in an extremely original way. The colours, light, strong and skilfully
mixed up between contrast an shape.
Natalino De Michelis attended some painting courses; read books of
art, visited galleries, museums and exhibitions; he needed all this to
better understand himself and what he wanded to express. In 1982 he met
master Salvador Aulestia, famous Catalan (Spanish) artist known all over
the world, who understood De Michelis potential value and encouraged him
to work, advised him to avoid exterior influences and to look for motivations
inside himself.
After this important meeting, Natalino De Michelis went on with enthusiasm
with his career of trueartist who runs away from the easy marketing and
directs towards the creation of works of art. He is a restless soul continuously
searching his own pictorical expression; he does not stop in front of his
first achievements and successes, but he keeps on, almost frenetically,
exploring new styles and new techniques for a continous evolution of his
own painting.
Natalino De Michelis took part in some joint exhibitions in Cataluña
(Spain) and in Ligura (Italy) earning very good assens and reviews.
In his last works it is an abstract tendency which prevails even through
we can sense a reference to landscape and floral shapes and colours. The
colours are warmer and the technique used to achieve feelings of great
strength and, at the same time, great global harmony is very interesting
an new.
