The first part of the book contains the complete catalogue of the sources stored in the Musical Archive of the Cambonino Museum in Cremona. These unpublished manuscripts from the XIXth century contain hundreds of dance tunes for one or more fiddles.

The second part of the book treats about the relationships between these sources and the living folk tunes still played in the traditions of the Caffaro Valley, Vigezzo Valley and Hills of Pavia.

About 100 fiddle tunes (some of these for two fiddles) have been re-transcribed in modern notation (Country dances, Monferrinas, Minuets, Valzer etc).
