A musical journey from the mountain fiddling to the XIXth century ballroom dancing

This project comes out of Maurizio Padovan (La Ciapa Rusa) and Giuliano Grasso (Barabàn), fiddlers in top Italian folk bands. The group offers a fascinating voyage into the magical world of Italian fiddling, performing tunes from the old Northern Italian string bands, once playing at dance parties, weddings and carnival. The concert explores both the traditional dance repertoire of the Alpine mountains and written tunes from rare manuscripts, alternating different sounds and styles.
