AMERICAN LANDSCAPE

The pictures of this book are a collection of my first experiments of landscape visualisation. I was looking for an emotionally strong involvement that I could not find in my own homeland, so my mind went to the U.S. parks.
There I found Nature in extreme landscapes: endless stretches of desert, impressive rock towers, surprisingly shaped canyons.. and I discovered the beauty of the weather, so violent in its rapid and sudden mutability, together cause and effect of those wonders.
Struck by the awesome show of Nature, I then realised that there was a submissive reality. I looked down upon the details along the watercourses, upon the mud on the bottom of the canyons, and upon the small plants on the dunes.
The interpretation and communication of all those beauties through photography has been an extremely intense and thrilling experience. Luciano Monti
