STRINGS
Andy's preffered strings during this era were Dean Markley 10-46's. He has used these same string sets ever since.
AMPS
Andy's first record with this amp model was the second collaboration between him
and Robert Fripp, 'Bewitched'. From Guitar Player magazine, October '84 : "...I was quite excited about the
new Dean Markley Combo, which is a killer amp- one of the best ones that's been around in years." Andy used this amp along with various Roland JC-120s and various Fenders to record
'XYZ' and 'Mysterious Barricades'.
Pearce G2r & A3
From 1989 through 1996, Andy exclusivley used this amp duo on the road. Many players
who still own one are very fortunate, because the Pearce company is no longer around. The G2r was a stereo rack-mount (2 space), 100 watt a channel, solid state guitar
amp with two fuly independant preamp channels (switch, split or combine), unlimited distortion range & gain-optimizing
switches. It also included built-in digital reverb/delay by the effects company Alesis, effects loops for each
channel and stereo master loop/preamp outs.
The Pearce A3 was a rack-mount (2-space) multi-mode power amp (600 watt mono; 300
watt per side stereo) with speaker dampening switches and master volume and balance controls.
