The H2O project is born from the encounter between a group of designers, programmers and filmmakers (Studio Brutus / Citrullo Int.) and the musical ensemble Taxonomy.
The project is made up by two distinct phases:
1. - The shooting of specifically conceived video images, the creation of elements in digital graphics and the programming of a software capable of controlling some of the visual elements, binding video elaboration parameters to the development of the sound wave produced during the live music set (e.g. colour, development of the graphic forms, background);
2. - A live performance which will involve the video-artists who will manage via computer the software set up for the live show. Some of the shot images and some of the previously elaborated graphic elements will be given to the artists who, however, will create on spot new animations according to the music. The musicians will interact with the video material improvising and creating new structures and sound weavings which will space from instant composition which follows a concrete music approach to the abstract and the use of field recordings and acoustic sections.
H2O is a scientific lab, a water container, where primordial unicellular beings who grow, evolve and multiply, germinate. Visual pulsations emerge from the dark, fragments of an unresolved identity, doomed to a restless mobility. What remains is the reflex of light, the intuition of a placid collision, floating, fluid, elusive. Water, palpable container. It can be seen, it can be heard. A dive in a shaded universe of indefinite and mobile contours, for the only possible duration: that of the apnoea.
TAXONOMY
Taxomomy is an electroacoustic/electronic music trio, born during 2003, and composed by:
Elio Martusciello: guitar, laptop, electronic devices
Graziano Lella (arg): laptop
Roberto Fega: sampling, electronic devices
Taxonomy plays compositions and improvises, moving through the syncretism between different musical codes. They explore morphological analogies that lie between thought and micro-organisms. Strange correlations between the letters of forgotten alphabets and globalised (de-localised) languages. For them all books, alphabets, signs, chemistry (both organic and inorganic), geography, religion, politics and journeys are only scenery of an experience, a dream or aspiration. The finesse of the mix, worthy of electroacoustic music, highlights the rich details, a dynamic palette ranging from clashing noise to silent textures. The first group's album, A Global Taxonomical Machine, was released in 2005 by Ambiances Magnétiques (Canada) and offers a gripping blend of concrete noise, abstract electronic environments and acoustic sections.
CITRULLO INTERNATIONAL
Citrullo International s.r.l. is an independent production house established in 2001 by Luciano Barcaroli, Carlo Hintermann, Gerardo Panichi and Daniele Villa. The four are brought together by the aim of creating a production entity able to produce documentaries and audiovisual products of a high cultural profile. In its five years of life Citrullo International has grown, both in terms of experience and of ambition, and, thanks to the results achieved, alongside the production of documentaries and retrospectives, is now coming out on the international scene with new ideas for cinema (features) and television (video-clips, animation series and TV formats) and multimedia projects.

Studio Brutus, established in 1999 under the name Chimp, is a multidisciplinary design firm mainly involved in productions in the different fields of animation, game design, web design, video broadcast/web, graphic design, production design. The firm is founded by Lorenzo Ceccotti (Art Director, director, 2d/3d Graphic Designer, Motion Designer), Gianluca Abbate (Art Director, director, 2d/3d Graphic Designer, Motion Designer), Mauro Staci (Programmer, Action Script, Script, Script Server Side) and Massimo Ronca (Programmer, Action Script, Script, Script Server Side, Administrative Tools).
