1:72 scale Art.No.72903
|
This
helicopter was developed by Agusta as a derivative of the Bell Huey for
the anti-submarine role, fitting it with the AN/ASQ-13 dipping sonar and
special all-weather avionics, and making it capable to carry Mk.46 torpedoes
or depth charges.
The AB204ASW is a further
special version developed in 1968 by adding to the basic AB204AS an Ecko
ARI-5955 anti-surface vessel radar and enabling it to operate Aerospatiale
AS.12 or Sistel Marte missiles.
These helicopters were
delivered to the Italian, Spanish and Turkish navies.
While the Italian airframes
led to the design of the better-known AB212ASW
but were lately transferred to the Fire Brigades air corps, in Spain and
in Turkey they are still used for transport and training roles.
