IMPORTANTISSIMO : da GUSH SHALOM pob 3322, Tel-Aviv 61033 http://www.gush-shalom.org/ L'associazione lancia un appello per un'immediata mobilitazione a difesa delle case palestinesi. le case sono sistematicamente abbattute non per "motivi di sicurezza" o in quanto "obiettivi militari". le case distrutte in Cisgiordania ieri e oggi appartengono a palestinesi che hanno la sola colpa di avere un tetto. Quattro case sono state abbattute ad Anata dove un rabbino per la pace e' stato arrestato mentre si opponeva al buldozer; altre 2 case abbattute a Issawiye, dove ieri ne erano state abbattute altre 4. Questi sono villaggi alla periferia di Gerusalemme. Altre 4 case distrutte vicino Hebron, tra gli insediamenti ebraici di Kiriat Arba e di Giv'at Haharsina (lo hanno chiesto i coloni perche' impedivano la "continuita' territoriale "tra i due insediamenti ). in tutti i casi le motivazioni sono sempre quelle che i palestinesi non hanno il permesso per innalzare o costruire su loro terreni. ma gli israeliani dimenticano di dire che quei permessi sono richiesti ma non sono concessi dall'occupante. Without even the pretence of "security interests" or "military targets" you try quickly to implement a policy aimed at keeping West Bank Palestinians locked in small and overcrowded enclaves. The houses destroyed yesterday and today at Issawiyah, Anata and near Hebron belong to ordinary Palestinian citizens whose only crime is the wish to have a roof over their heads. The 34-year Israeli occupation never provided any housing plans to fulfill their basic needs, while erecting tens of thousands of housing units for Israeli settlers - even denying the Palestinians a permit to build at their own expence, on their own land.

Defence for Children International chiede interventi immediati a favore dei bambini palestinesi detenuti nelle carceri israeliane. Da settembre oltre 300 ragazzi sotto i 18 anni sono stati arrestati. Attualmente sono detenuti nella prigione militare di Megiddo (circa 100 tra i 16 e 18 anni); nelle prigioni dell'amministrazione penitenziaria di Telmond e Ramla ( 80 sotto i 16 anni a Telmond e 2 ragazze a Ramla). Altri 20 sono detenuti in centri di detenzione in Cisgiordania e Gerusalemme. I bambini sono sottoposti a privazioni e maltrattamenti ; sono rinchiusi con gli adulti criminali comuni, subiscono violenze fisiche e psicologiche, gli vengono rubati i propri averi. The UN CRC also calls, in article 37, for the separation of juvenile and adult prisoners, "unless it is considered in the child's best interest not to do so..." - the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (Standard Minimum Rules) adopted by U.N. Economic and Social Council resolution 663C (XXIV), on July 31, 1957. This resolution provides authoritative guidance in interpreting principles laid out in documents such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The Standard Minimum Rules apply to all persons in detention, for whatever reason. Israel is bound to uphold the articles contained therein.
