Description: Dronaement is active since 1997 and is the main musical project of Marcus Obst who lives in the South area of what once was East Germany. Marcus is also involved in the Das Rhythmische Ornament experimental drone-punk duo and runs a small label called Nauze [Muzick]. His newest Oscillator solo project has its first album out now in mp3 format on the Nauze [Muzick] website. After a few amazing tape albums he joined the Drone Records serie with the "Wassermond" 7", which was based on a collaboration with Jim De Jong, followed soon by a split LP with The Infant Cycle (Jim De Jong again....). Since then he released some marvellous solo CD-R albums on Dachstuhl and Nauze [Muzick] that everyone with an even small interest in Drone / Experimental music should immediately put their hands on. An "analog drones meet muffled guitars" collaboration with french guitarist Rabbit's Sorrow (Sebastien Roux) was also released on CD by Le Cri De La Harpe. Now comes "Yr", an experimental masterpiece that grows both into your heart and mind each time you listen to it. Althought divided in six distinct tracks is perfect for long listening sessions courtesy of the repeat button. Sound sources that Marcus mostly used on this album include an old organ and synthesizers, a little sampler and lots of guitar effects joined by an acoustic guitar (in "Yr pt. 2"), a cello (played by Markus Altmann in "Ea Nostalgia") and field recordings like a seashore (in the extremely evocative "Yr pt. 1") and a rain storm (in the 22 minutes long "Purify"). The disc also contains a multimedia section with detailed notes, photographs, video and mp3 files all created by Marcus Obst himself and comes in a beautiful japanese paper (...available in different colours...) + rafia limited edition package designed by the Afe Creative Laboratories with a professionaly printed insert created by Marcus. A Blade Records / Afe Records / Nauze [Muzick] co-production that you will enjoy listening over and over again.
