High density polystyrene foam has for many years now been employed in building and for residential buildings in particular in many different applications: for energy saving, as disposable foundation caissons, for thermal insulation, sound and water proofing, and finally for insulation of vertical walls (coat system), flat or gabble roofs.

From the observation of existing applications of polystyrene foam, the idea was developed for a different application in building: the formulation is simple, and yet the application is highly innovative.

The idea is to mould the polystyrene blocks which will make up the roof and the perimeter walls of the building and then put them together following a modular approach and the existing design data.
