Giulio Risi was born in Salerno (Italy) and studied Piano and Keyboards since young.
He graduated in classical piano at "Gesualdo ad Venosa" conservatory in Potenza (Italy) in 1993 and followed few important Jazz perfecting courses in Naples and London.
He has been taught, among others, by M.Camilo, Butch Morris, Huw Warren, John Taylor, Enrico Pieranunzi.
Since the middle eighties, he's been performing with relevant Italian artists (see CV  for details), touring troughout Italy and Europe.
Some of his many Festival performances include: Torino, Bologna, Reggio Calabria, Teano,Pomigliano.
Hailed as a very versatile performer, Giulio Risi mix with taste his many influences: from Spanish music to be bop going trough Latin, African, Funk and Classical music.The result is a rare blend of delicacy, passion and rhythm.
His performances skip from poly rhythmic grooves to "hi speed" percussive playing, from smooth jazz standards re harmonisations to hard funk. He his known as an extraordinary studio/live pianist and keyboardist as well as studio producer and leader of  Giulio Risi Partido Alto band .
He also performs in  duo  with award-winner singer Jenny Howe (former singer with National Young Youth Orchestra and voice of several movie soundtracks as well as West End Musicals and Operas).
Giulio tours worldwide as musical director and performer with frequent TV and radio appaearances and has just released his own CD " Partido Alto " with well known names in british jazz circuit.
