"This Country is  situated in a great lowland,  three miles far from  Portocannone, and it is placed on a slope that falls on the west in  the place where the Biferno River flows into  the Adriatic Sea,and on the north another slope falls on the beach; and this situation makes the Land delightful and its air perfect.

We believe that this Land has been called Campomarino, because placed  on a vast field on the coast of the Sea, from which it is  only  fifty footsteps distant;  for this reason it was also called Campo a mare" (Field on the sea)

( From the "Civilian   and  ecclesiastical historical memories of the Larino Diocese" A.Tria.

Rome 1754 )

Introduction

This is the beginning of a new adventure whose aim is the realization of a new web site. Its ambition is to be a a point of reference for those who love my country.

It is a private site far from any conditioning and without any purpose of profit. It also has a social finality and a personal conformation in its evolution. It represents above all a privileged channel for the most distant people that may be intersted in our country.

Once they told me: "It seems that when a land belongs to you with affection, it never changes. We can always recognize the perfumes and the same lights, that are the unforgettable memories of our childhood."

I'm bound to my country by this affection; although it's so small, it has a great heart able to embrace the histories of everybody. In these histories today I recognize the guardian of my time. My aim is to assemble all audio, video, photographs and texts related to Campomarino in an electronic file available to everybody on the web.

This site may be useful for our children that need a clear and fast information. It may be helpful for those who are far because of their job or studies: I hope that, sailing these pages, they may virtually feel to be at home. It is dedicated to all those who are near to our traditions, so that, flowing these images, they may live again the past times in our country; times passed so serenely in a country that historically has always been so generous receiving others.

A particular and primary attention is addressed to all those who belong to our village and are living abroad. This site is dedicated almost to you. Today, with the advent of this great instrument, it is possible to be, in real time, in any place of the world and, therefore, also in your country of origin. This is what I have in mind to realize and, today, this project represents the first not commercial site created by a campomarinese. To do this however I need the collaboration of everybody.

I need to pick up informations, photographs, documentations, testimonies that may enrich this project. You may write and send any informations to the following E-mail: campomarino@tiscalinet.it I hope that with your and my help it will be possible to keep opened this window on the world, through the great web of Internet.
