Birth of Assunta in Force, of Luigi Pallotta and Eufrasia Casali.

21. 08. 1878

 

Baptism: the child received the name  "Assunta Maria Liberta". After a few days the family  returned to Castello di Croce.

07. 07. 1880

 

Assunta received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

           1882

 

The family finally returned to Force.

           1884

 

Assunta returns to school but only for a short time. She has only learned to read and write.

02. 03. 1897

 

On the last nigh of Carnival, during a masked ball she receives her vocation.

05. 05. 1898

 

She goes to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in Rome: she remains there  for only three months.

05. 08. 1898

 

She goes to Grotta to complete her postulate, then her novitiate.

08. 12. 1900

 

First Vows in Rome. She returns to Grotta the same day.

She goes to Florence.

She asks to make the Vow of Love.

She asks to go to China, to the lepers.

In Florence, consecration of her whole life to God.

She leaves Florence for Rome.

Arrival in Tong-Eul-Keou. She is the cook in the orphanage.

Assunta catches typhus.

She asks to die instead of another sister.

The body of Assunta is exhumed and found to be intact. Thirty men carry the coffin to Tai Yan-Fou (46Km from Tong-Eul-Keou).

The Feast of St. Paschal Baylon. The body of Assunta is placed in a new tomb, near those of her Martyred Sisters.

25. 07. 1923

 

Pius XI signs the Decree, introducing the cause of Beatification of Sister Assunta.

28. 02. 1932

 

The Decree on the heroicity of the virtues of Assunta is proclaimed by Pius XI - and broadcast for the first time by radio.

Beatification of Assunta  by Pius XII in St. Peter's Basilica.
