The scale is best described as Grand Tactical - your object is to win the battle, not the War. The game is based on pre-defined Scenarios. While many Scenarios come with the game, the Game Editor allows you to create your own scenarios and to modify those provided. Each battle is two-sided, although there may be up to four forces involved. Forces on the same side are allies working to achieve a common goal. Commanders (human or computer controlled) are assigned for each force, adding conflict to the game. A single commander may control more than one force on a side. After selecting a Scenario to play and assigning commanders to the forces, choose one of the two game play modes supported by Empire II - Sequential Mode or Parallel Mode. Each of these modes has its advantages and disadvantages, depending on the number and types of players involved and on personal preferences. The two modes were designed to address specific playing configurations. Sequential mode is primarily for the Single Human Player versus the Computer player. Parallel mode is primarily for multiple Human commanders (either on a single system or via remote connection). However, both modes of play are available for all playing configurations. Rayman Par Ses Fans (aka Rayman By His Fans) - UbiSoft held a special contest after the release of Rayman Designer, in which fans of the game submitted their best level designs using the editor from the Rayman Designer package. They were able to defend themselves against the power of the Empire for the first time. Soon, they hit back, made the surprised and unprepared troops of the Smarts flee behind the Big Bay and destroyed the capital.. Dead stillness fell over the land, promising peace at least until disputes started among the allies who had won together and their alliance broke apart on details. The Smarts, dreaming of their short past time in power decided to risk All once more. In GunMetal, you play the role of a pilot driving a Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV) in the Nataka Imperial Armored Cavalry. Your RPV is sort of a cross between a sports car and a tank, except that it hovers a few feet off the ground and it's actually operated by remote control. It has a variable throttle; use it to select the most comfortable speed for you. Just like driving a car, you'll find that some spaces are too narrow for you to turn around in, especially if you have purchased a heavy chassis. If you get stuck, try backing up or strafing. If you get really stuck you'll be pleased to know that a self-destruct system is standard issue for Nataka RPVs. P133, 15M HD, 16M RAM, DirectX 5.x Outline: Medieval armies usually consisted of a king or his appointed commander, knights, men at arms, mercenaries, and often untrained militia from the surrounding countryside. It would usually be organized into a number of wings or groups each consisting of a mixture of the available arms types. Nobles, Knights, and men at arms usually occupied the center of a wing, while the more mobile missile armed troops screened their flanks. The militia were generally relegated to guarding camps and were not usually trusted in battle. On the field, the wings could be aligned in lines or columns depending upon the position adopted. The English usually fought dismounted and adopted a defensive position, employing woods or other natural obstacles to guard their flanks. Continental armies usually assumed an offensive posture, attacking with their wings in column. The interrelationships of the various unit types was very important to the evolution of strategy on the medieval battlefield. The mounted knight provided the most effective combination of speed and shock but even the knight could not ride the battlefield with impunity. Longbow and pikemen proved they could stand and turn back the stiffest cavalry charge. Each unit type in a wing was most effectively used in concert with each other. Medieval is a tactical combat game depicting various field battles that took place in the period from about 500 AD to 1500 AD. The game system itself is basically "scale-less" but is generally built around a 25 yards per hex/25 men per unit system. As with previous Incredible Simulations' titles, Medieval was designed to be a fast turn based game. There are no seperate phases for movement and combat. Players may perform any available action at any time during their turn segment. Most of the scenarios have been scaled down to keep the battles tight and focused. Includes an editor and all the documentation in the game. Right after this was released, several patches were put out, and we've already updated the game so you get the most current game. PBEM (Play By E-Mail) support is included in the game. So this isn't exactly a stellar title, but PC Gamer gave this game a 90%, so if you like turn based games, then you just might like this game.
