Domenica 6 Giugno, alle ore 10, ci siamo incontrati per il nostro primo culto domenicale.

E' stata una grande gioia poter cantare, pregare ed edificarci l'un l'altro attraverso la lettura e la meditazione della Parola di Dio.

Monica ha avuto la sua prima lezione di Scuola Domenicale, preparata da Krissy e Tutina.

Sabato 12 Giugno, alle ore 15 abbiamo aperto al pubblico il Bazar preparato a favore dei profughi del Kossovo.

E' stata veramente una bella opportunità per conoscere gente del nostro vicinato e intrattenere interessanti conversazioni sulla nostra chiesa, il suo messaggio e il desiderio di essere in futuro un piccolo punto di riferimento per il quartiere.

Il Bazar era stato annunciato dalla radio della Chiesa Avventista che qui' a Roma svolge un'interessante opera di evangelizzazione.

Al Bazar è intervenuta parecchia gente. Il prete della vicina Chiesa Cattolica ci ha fatto pervenire i suoi saluti e l'augurio di una futura collaborazione per attività a scopo sociale e assistenziale......

Alcune famiglie del quartiere ci hanno ringraziato per l'opportunità che la Chiesa del Nazareno ha dato loro di "fare qualcosa di buono" e ci hanno chiesto informazioni sui nostri progetti futuri.

E' stato un bel pomeriggio trascorso all'aperto, nel giardino pieno di fiori, colori e i tanti lavori che il nostro gruppo di donne ha saputo creare per l'occasione! Il Bazar, dalle ore 15 alle 20.30 ci ha permesso di raccogliere L.l.003.000....

Un piccolissimo aiuto per chi vive i tempi della sofferenza, accompagnato dalle preghiere e dall'amore di chi ha lavorato e chi è intervenuto, contribuendo a questa iniziativa.

Giovedì 15 Luglio abbiamo concluso gli incontri con il gruppo delle donne, con la proiezione di un film sulla vita di Jony Erickson e discutendo insieme sulla sofferenza, la sua accettazione e la risposta della fede.

Riprenderemo in Ottobre con due gruppi, uno che si riunirà ogni 15 giorni (Gruppo di Riflessione) e un altro che avrà compiti più pratici.

Domenica 25 Luglio, dopo il culto, avremo un pranzo comunitario che sarà anche l'occasione per ringraziare e salutare Betty e Keith Sears che partono il 4 Agosto per un tempo di riposo con i famigliari in America.

Auguriamo a ciascuno di voi che ci ha seguito, aiutato e sostenuto in preghiera, un tempo di vero riposo e di

benedizioni da parte del nostro Signore Gesù Cristo!

On Sunday June 6 at 10 a.m. we met for our first regular Sunday service.

What great joy it was to sing, to pray and to edify each other through the

reading of and meditation on God's Word.

Krissy and Tutina had prepared a Sunday school lesson for Monica, her very

first one.

On Saturday June 12, at 3 p.m. we held a benefit bazaar to raise relief funds for the Kosovo refugees.

In addition to raising money, the benefit bazaar turned out to be great opportunity to get to know the people of the area around our church property. We had some interesting conversations about our church, its

message and our desire to play an active role in the neighborhood.

The 7th Day Adventist Church radio station, which has quite an evangelistic mission here in Rome, gave us free publicity for the bazaar.

Lots of people came to the bazaar. Even the priest of the closest Catholic church sent his greetings. In his note he even expressed hope for future collaboration with us in social and compassionate ministry activities.

Several neighborhood families thanked the Church of the Nazarene for giving them an opportunity to "do something good." They asked us for information on our future projects.

It was a wonderful afternoon spent in the open air. The colorful yard was full of flowers and crafts which had been created by our women's group for this occasion. The bazaar, which ran from 3 to 8:30, brought in 1,003,000 italian lire (nearly 550 US dollars).

It will be a small help for those living in suffering, but it will go accompanied by the prayers and love of those who worked and those who came to make the benefit a success.

On Thursday, July 15 we concluded our cycle of women's meetings with the showing of a film on the life of Joni Erickson. After the film, we discussed suffering, how one lives with it, and the proper response of faith.

In October we will start again with two groups. One, a reflection group, will meet every 15 days. The other will have a more practical scope.

On Sunday, July 25, we will have a community meal after the service. This will be the occasion to honor and to thank Betty and Keith Sears who are leaving August 4 for a trip to the U.S. to see family members.

To all of you that have followed our endeavors, who have helped and supported us in prayer, we wish for you a true time of rest and blessing in our Lord Jesus Christ.
