MOUNT KILIMANJARO

December 2004-Januray 2005

Mt. Kilimanjaro 19.340 ft (5.895 m) high, is Africa’s roof top and I am proposing an ascent next Autumn. Situated inside the Kilimanjaro National Park it can be climbed by any physically fit person. The itinerary proposed is the Marangu route, affectionately known as the "Coca-Cola route", by far the most popular route to the summit of Kilimanjaro.

MOUNT KENYA

December 2004-Januray 2005

Straddling the equator with its snow capped peaks, Mt. Kenya is Africa's second highest peak. Differently from Mt. Kilimanjaro which is an huge volcano in the middle of the savannah, Mt Kenya is a real mountain range with dozen of peaks above 4.000 meters.

Isle de la Reunion

CANYONING AT ISLE DE LA REUNION

Isle de la Réunion is located in the Indian Ocean, close to Madagascar, and it is a well-known destination for canyoning lovers. This programme is suitable for them and for those who would like to discover this fascinating sport in a different place away from the Alps. More than 70 outfitted canyons can satisfy every need and give the opportunity to do this sport all year round. But this island does not only offer this. A veritable paradise with peaks 3.000 meters high, spectacular landscapes and even an active volcano offers many possibilities to do trekking and to discover the nature that is at its best in this area. Many climbing sites are spread throughout the island, some of those close to the beautiful tropical beaches that surround the island.

Thailand

Thailand and especially Krabi province are the ideal destination for climbing lovers that look for alternative crags, to discover climbing, sea, nature and relaxation, that make a perfect cocktail for an unforgettable holiday.

We will stay on Railay Beach, just in the heart of Phra Nang Peninsula, where there are some bungalows and from where we will have easy walking access to the numerous climbing sites.

I even suggest spending a few days in Phi Phi Island where the movie "The Beach" has been shot and where there are some very nice climbing routes.

USA

This was my first trip to the USA and I recommend it to those who want to spend a holiday discovering the national parks, together with rock climbing on the most beautiful crags of the South West USA.

Mount Everest

MOUNT EVEREST

13 April - 12 June 2005

During spring 2005 I participated to the expedition Everest Vitesse 2005 and with a group of other Mountain Guides I helped the Italian speed climber Bruno Brunod, to attempt the record of ascent and descent of Mount Everest with no O2. I did not summitted since Bruno stopped his attempt just at Camp 3 (8.100 m) where I was to assist him. The expedition has been a good experience for me to do again.
