The GIAGU knives are created by the knowing hands of Salvatore GIAGU and those of his wife Maria Rosaria DEROMA , however, the only woman making knives in this place. She manufactures knives following in the wake of an ancient artisan traditions, forging the knives according to the traditional and classical style of blades called "foglia di mirto" (mirtle leave). The past and recent history of the GIAGU knives is that, which was handed on by generations of artisan blacksmithes, who have gradually specialized in manufacturing the typical knives of an agropastoral society. |
