The choir was established in 1995 by the actual choirmaster, who had gathered singers coming from other choirs and put them toghether with
people who had no choral experience, succeedeing in merging experiences and
individual abilities.
In February 1998 the Polyphonic Choir "Americo de Santis"
became a non-profit cultural association taking the same name. In this way the principal
activities have spread throughout the area in order to bring young
people and also elder ones closer to the art of music and culture.
The choir has also organized many events in order to share cultural experiencies and traditions with Italian and European cities and thus increasing the concert activities.
In july 2003 the Association changed its name becoming the Musical and Cultural Association "Americo de Santis" so as to continue on the same path of experience. The choir repertoire, which is available on this site,
goes from the Gregorian style up to the 20 th Century music, particular attention
and philological research are given to the Renaissance period and to the Baroque music.
