TRACK
OCCUPANCE DETECTOR
It detects
a train on a section of track, switch to red the signal on previous section,
and when following train arrive near the siglal stop it.
It work with
DCC or no DCC train; with DCC train slow down with the decelleration programmed
in DDC decoder ( and after start with acceleration); lights on cars are always
on; also if you have the loco in back of train, it stops near the signal.
For me the
trouble was to avoid short circuits between differents booster feeding
tracks.Shorts occours when a loco or a car is between insulated section (or a
whell is on them).
You may
overcome that by building sections longer than the longest train running;after
the train is on this section, and the signal is red, you ( the track-occupance)
may switch to 0 the track safely!
When train
see green, it leaves the the actual section and arriving on the next section,
sets the previous signal to red, but, to avoid short, leaves the current DCC signal in a waiting state for the nex
train and so on.
The rigth
sequence is drived by a PIC12C508.
