DEF LEPPARD

HISTORY

The DF are the British band that has done more happened in America thanks also to the publications of album in style with that nation. The origins of the group must be sought in the Atomic Mass, group in which the bassista Rick Savage served in the military, the guitarist Peter Willis, of which he did irony (sees the stature of certain not from giant) that during the tour was put back in the luggage van of the bus! The group also included the drummer Tony Kenning. In 1977 it unites him to the band Joe Elliot. The name of the group almost immediately comes changed first in Deaf Leppar, and then in DF, as it was in the dreams of Elliot. Then Savage and Elliot realized the limits as soloist guitarist of, so of commune accord they placed side by side him Steve Clark. In 1978 the drummer Tony Kenning was dismissed because of the scarce appointment with which was applied to the group andhe was replaced for the recording of the EP of debut, auto-produced from the group, from Frank Noon of the Next Band, that was replaced then with happened recordings by ex - Rampage Rick Allen (which seems it was then only fourteen years old). L' EP, surprisingly, revenges very well so much that the group succeeded in having a contract with the Vertigo Rec. With the Vertigo the first job to go out is the single oneHello America! to which the disk of debut happens 'On through the night', recorded under the egidia to the console of Tom Allom. The disk is bright, load of that' juvenile energy that pervades the band, whose middle age doesn't reach the most greater age. From a lot of parts they reach the group to squeeze too much the eye to the American market and therefore to the success. At the same time however they are approved as one of the bands of point of the NWOBHM. It arrives so the second disk 'High n Dry' produced by Mutt Lange, that realizes a more immediate album of the precedent and very nearer to a sound type AC/DC. This disk increased the disaffection of the English toward the band, but it increased the American success to excess. And' of that period the dismissal of Pete Willis, accused of being often drunk and not in condition to play. To his place the takes over ex Girl Phil Collen. We come so to 1983, it goes out 'Pyromania' that in America the becomes according to Best seller of every time, later 'Thriller' of Michael Jackson. By now the band it is decidedly 'Nemo prophesies in country and the New Wave it is distant years light from the rich bridegrooms DF. October 31 st 83 to performed of an auto accident on board of his/her Corvets, Rick Allen it loses, despite the attempt to sew it the right arm. The following albums are not distant more and more from the NWOBHM.
