Before Fleshcrawl signed
a contract with Black Mark Production in May 1992 they gained their
popularity doing diverse gigs in the underground scene. One month later in
June 1992 they recorded their debut album "Descend into the absurd"
in the Montezuma Studio, Stockholm. Two years later in Dan Swanφs Unisound
Studio their second album "Impurity" was produced. Fleshcrawl
received best reviews from the international press for their most brutal and
uncomprimisable Death Metal sound, not to mention their highly powered live
shows. They proved their power at the Easter Bash Tour '95 where they were
joined by Deicide, Cathedral and Brutal Truth. End of December '95 Fleshcrawl
recorded their third album "Bloodsoul" in the Swedish Abyss Studios,
managed by engineer Peter Tδgtgren (Hypocrisy). Here they recorded eight of
their heaviest sound tracks. The successful production of
"Bloodsoul" made it easy for the band to go on and finish their
fourth album "Bloodred Massacre" in 1997, again in the Abyss Studios.
"Bloodred Massacre" is a musical massacre complete with nine
bloodripe songs. The band exclusively recorded this album with their most
brutal and intense style without minimizing creative lyrics and catching
melodies. Therefore, making "Bloodred Massacre" a valuable piece of
work, earning the best reviews from the international metal press since their
debut album in 1992. Through the top class reviews the band was giving
interviews and was rewarded album of the month in Spark magazine 11/97. Also,
respectively, in the Fall of 1997 the French HardRock magazine wrote an
impressive review on "Bloodred Massacre" including a feature on the
magazine's compilation CD. In the summer of '98 the long time vacant bassist
job was finally occupied by the top qualified Tobias Schick. After the
release of "Bloodred Massacre", Fleshcrawl cut the ties with their
label Black Mark Production and went in search for a new record company.
Finally, in September 1998 they signed a contract with Invasion Records. In October
'98 the band went on a four week European Tour accompanied by Vader,
Kataklysm and Monstrosity. Together providing for an extremely heavy Death
Metal event on european stages. During this european tour the band also
played at several festivals appearing with Cannibal Corpse, Dark Funeral and
Infernal Majesty. After the tour the band decided to do some songwriting for
their fifth album which was planned for release in the summer of '99, when
for mysterious reasons the promising contract with Invasion Records evaporated,
causing the band to postpone recording dates and once again search for a new
record company. Before Fleshcrawl contracted with their new label Metal Blade
Records they had already recorded their new effort "AS BLOOD RAINS FROM
THE SKY - WE WALK THE PATH OF ENDLESS FIRE" at the Fredman Studios in
Gothenburg, Sweden. This time the band produced themselves - Fredrik
Nordstrφm (At the Gates etc.) is to thank for the final mix. This fifth album
consists of twelve songs heavier and brutaler than ever with utmost variation |
