Reservations:Do I need to call ahead?We do recommend that you give us a call when you are in Rome to let us know that you are coming. This is especially true in the summertime when we usually fill up quickly. However, if you are unable to call before you arrive in Rome, we suggest that you try to arrive as early as possible in the day. This is a good idea when hostelling in general because it gives you the opportunity to find alternative accommodation if a hostel is full or doesn't suit your needs. What if I don't know exactly how many days I want to stay?It is not a problem if you do not know how many days you want to stay. In fact if that is the case, then congratulations you are a true backpacker. Most of our guests take their trip on a day by day basis, rather than having a set itinerary. You only need to make a reservation for the day of your arrival. After that you have priority to your bed for the following nights, as long as you pay before 10:30 am for that coming night. Do you have beds available on...Because we always let our existing guests stay additional nights (up to two weeks) if they want to, we do not know in advance if we will have beds for you here on a given night. When you have a confirmed advance reservation with us, this simply assures that you will have a bed here or at a nearby hostel if we are full. We accept only cash. We offer discounts for VIP Backpackers Cardholders, Hostel of Europe. How much does it cost for children?Children are the same price as adults. Children are only allowed to stay if they are accompanied by their parents or legal guardians (this includes all minors under 18 years). Hostels can be a great experience for children of all ages. However, especially with small children, remember we have olso private rooms. Hours:When can I Check-in?We are open for guest registration anytime between 8am - midnight daily throughout the year. Do you have a lock out during the day?No, we do not have a lock-out. However for cleaning purposes we encourage our guests to be out around 10 am. If you are inside, we ask that you seek assistance from our staff before or after these times. Do you have a curfew at night?No, you don't have to be in by a certain time. Requirements:Do I need a hostel membership card to stay?No, however we will require proper identification. What do you require as identification?You must have a current, unalterable, government issued picture ID (i.e. passport). Do you have minimum or maximum stay requirements?There is no minimum stay. We do have a maximum stay of two weeks. The reason for this is that we are intended for international travelers and students on vacation, who are in Rome to see the sights. We are not well suited for people trying to re-locate to the city or for local residents. Therefore the two week maximum insures this is the case. Do I need to bring my own sheets or a sleeping bag?No, your bed will made with everything you need: clean sheets, towels,a blanket and a pillow. Are pets allowed to stay?We are sorry, but there are no pets of any kind allowed to stay. We must be considerate of the other guests who might have allergies. Are there any age restrictions?No. However if you are under 18 years old you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian only. Facilities:Are there private/double rooms available?Yes Do you have single sex dorms or are they all mixed?Our rooms are all mixed dormitories. If this is a concern to you, ask and we will try to put you with mostly women/men if that is possible but there is no guarantee. How many people per guest room?This varies from 4 people in a partitioned area of a large room to rooms with 8 people. Sorry, it's not possible to reserve a specific room. Is there a place to do Laundry?Yes. We do service washes for our guests, which means you give us your dirty clothes and we wash, dry & fold them while you are out enjoying yourself. We do this for $7.00 per load. Can I drink alcohol at your place?Yes we do allow drinking, but only in moderate levels and we expect a certain level of respect and maturity from our guests. Is smoking allowed?No, in accordance with Italian state law, there is no smoking allowed anywhere in the building. Safety:Will my belongings be safe?We highly recommend that people do lock up items such as: cameras, passports, travelers checks, etc. Since we have very hight security, only registered guests are allowed in the dormitories. Is the hostel located in a safe area of Rome?We are located in centre of Rome. We feel that we are located in a good neighborhood, and feel comfortable about going outside in this area even at night alone. However we are still located downtown in a large city. It is important to always keep your 'street smarts' about you. In addition there are areas of Rome which we would highly recommend that our guests not go. So upon check-in, please ask our staff about their recommendations. Other Services:Do you have Internet access for guests?Yes, we have Internet access. It's free and fast! Can I receive a fax?Yes our fax number is 390644703087. It costs Lire 1.000 a page to receive a fax. We also have outgoing fax service. The price depends on where you are faxing. I have a car, is there parking available?We do not have any on site parking for our guests. However we are experienced at helping our guests to find parking in the city. Our first suggestion is don't have a car in Rome. It is a parking nightmare. The public transportation system in Rome is excellent. However if you do have a car, we will direct you at check-in to the best place to park it based on how long you are staying, etc. |
