As a kid I collect
almost everything. The major collection was
stamps and coins. But it was minerals, papermoney,
bottlecaps, matchboxes etc. too.
When I was 12, my brother and I was curious
how many different packets of chewing gum that
was. Thats how it started, and after that I
just bought every new packet I found.
I put it in shoe boxes. When I was about 16,
I stopped collecting anything.
But I continued to buy packets of gum, only
to put them away.
35 now, and a few years ago I get what I was
looking for in years; a shelf with 20 drawers!
Then I organized and sorted the gum packets.
It gave the collecting spirit back to me,
and since then I have traveled the Internet
looking for gum and collectors. My collection
contains more than 3000 different packets.
I've realised that this funny little hobby
is too big to me.
Now I will focus on the norwegian brand "Toy",
manufactured by Freia 1932-1998. This was
the first brand ever
in Norway. Some places in Norway they still
say "toy" when they
mean "tyggegummi" (Chewing gum).
I will collect anything
related to "Toy" - ads, signs, wrappers
