If you like warm weather and merry making Spain is an ideal place

If you want to avoid the hot weather, the best month is September or June.

If you go to Andalusia, it is a must to visit the Granada-Cordoba-Sevilla route. If you don’t have a car, get ready to travel by bus, timely and well organized.

Granada is famous for its ancient Arabic colonization and for the Alhambra and the Generalife.

Tourists will find help in local tourist boards (Oficinas de Turismo), where they’ll be able to get maps, information on sightseeing, bus timetables, etc.

You could have trouble in finding an accommodation. For example it could be very difficult to find a cheap one in Marbella or booking a room for the next day in a youth hostel could not be accepted.

It will be much easier to get a job on the coast as a waiter or as an attendant in a shop if you speak English.

Spanish life is very similar to the Italian one and Spaniards are proud of their cuisine, fashion and friendliness especially because going out at night (salir de marcha) and celebrations in the squares last more than everywhere else.

Meat, ham and all that concerns pork are main dishes , besides paella (mixed or pescada), tortillas, gazpacho and the famous tapas served with cerveza (Beer).

But let’s talk of Madrid. Here in the summer you will only find tourists and the weather will be unbearably hot. You wil find more pleasure in going to a swimming pool or to one of the many parks.

Madrid’s underground has 11 lines with 158 stations and is open from 6 a.m. to 1.30 a.m. You can choose a single ticket for one trip which costs 145 ptas or a metrobus ticket, valid for 10 trips, which costs 760 ptas. The monthly travelcard, valid for the A zone, costs 5000 ptas.

The main airlines operating in Spain are Spanair, Iberia, Air Europa.

Mobile telephone companies are Airtel, Movistar, Amena.
