Gli Evòn hanno da poco pubblicato "Evòn 1999", CD nel quale la band capitolina fornisce efficace testimonianza del suo singolare sound sospeso tra folk elettroacustico, sperimentazione elettronica e improvvisazioni, peraltro sviluppato in brani sempre suggestivi e melodici.

Evòn - Evòn 1999 / FIORE D'ORIENTE

Un progetto che nasce dalle ceneri di alcune formazioni dell'area etno-sperimentale romana nel quale confluiscono inevitabilmente le esperienze accumulate dai dodici musicisti che hanno partecipato alla realizzazione di questa affascinante opera prima. In Evòn 1999 rientrano così, con pari dignità, la musica elettronica e d'avanguardia, le sonorità etniche, la forma-canzone (Generator, Neptune) e le suite strumentali (Tauromachia, Lune) in un affresco lucido e del tutto personale in grado di trascinare l'ascoltatore in un universo parallelo, dove la componente evocativa domina su ogni possibile tecnicismo.

Evòn - "Evòn 1999" - autoprodotto

É un disco incantevole ed evocativo, quello confezionato in proprio dall'ensemble romano Evòn. Ed è fortemente suggestiva nei suoi toni epico-drammatici, la mini-suite introduttiva "Tauromachia"  (apprezzabile il simbolismo sacrificale del torero), laddove si intende un marcato bagaglio classico, con un piano protagonista, dirottato su coordinate visionarie ed avanguardistiche. Nella disponibilità a mescolare ed alternare musica colta sia a cenni etnici che a cospicue porzioni di elettronica, dalla concisione che a volte oseremmo definire "pop" ("Generator"), sta in effetti il grande pregio di questi musicisti. Il magnetico di "Neptune", tra ammalianti melodie di violino e violoncello e i vocalizzi del soprano Alessandra Raponi sospesi su un tappeto elettronico ambientale, è un altro episodio di ragguardevole magia e profondità sonora, mentre "Amnio Dance" introduce elementi ritmici e una chitarra elettrica che rammentano retaggi di una certa "wave" più liquida e sintetica. Il resto è sequenza che si conferma di rilievo, ricca di tensione a atmosfera, inquiete oscurità e intensi squarci di luce, con un finale ("Flying Away") dagli urgenti techno-beat non privo di confortanti umori spaziali, capace di convivere con uno strumento antico come il tiktiri e di ampliare ulteriormente, senza inibizioni stilistiche, i propri confini.                                                                                                          L.F.

The CD produced by the Roman group "Evòn" is enchanting and evocative.

The introductory mini-suite "Tauromachia" (with its remarkable symbolism 

of the bull fighter's sacrifice), is strongly suggestive in its epic and dramatic tone. It shows a strong classical knowledge, with the piano music as the protagonist; the music leans towards the avant-garde with visionary lines. 

These musicians have the ability to alternate between various cultures and between ethnic and electro music, which sometimes could be defined as "pop" ("Generator"). Another piece full of magic and deep sonority in an electronic environment is "Neptune", which contains charming melodic violin and violoncello together with the vocals of the soprano Alessandra Raponi. The piece "Amnio Dance" introduces rhythmical elements and the electric guitar suggest a spiritual inheritance of a fluid and synthetic "wave". The other pieces confirm a sequence rich in tension and atmosphere, with alarming darkness and intense flashes of light, with the final piece "Flying Away" containing a techno-beat tone which is not lacking in comforting spatial spirit, capable of living together with an ancient instrument like the tiktiri which amplifies its own frontiers, without stylistic inhibitions.
