What's new in FReego 0.11:
-
Improved GUI interface (see screenshots
page)
-
Improved start/end parameters reading from
PAR file
-
Added parameters 5, 6
-
Added extra fixed parameters:bailout, bailoutest,
reset, passes, rseed, aspectdrift, formulafile, formulaname, lfile, lname,
ifsfile, ifsname, inside, outside

The general features of the program:
-
FReego
-
MS-DOS
-
Fractint
19 or higher required
-
Simple user interface with mouse and drop-down
menu (see screenshots
page)
-
Save/restore transition SET files
-
Get start/end parameters values from Fractint-generated
PAR file.
-
Transition fixed general parameters:
Fractal type, color MAP file, functions, video resolution
-
Transition variable general parameters:
CtrX, CtrY, mag, Xmagfactor, rotation, skew, parameter1..4, maxiter, color
map file
-
Other parameters: bailout, bailoutest, reset,
passes, rseed, aspectdrift, formulafile, formulaname, lfile, lname, ifsfile,
ifsname, inside, outside
-
Color map transition
-
Not linear zooming algorithm (CtrX and CtrY
increments are calculated depending on mag to get a constant speed in every
situation)
-
Generation of full screen animations
or previews (1/2 screen or 1/4 screen)
-
Number of frames, obviously, but you can tell
the program to skip the last frame (useful for continuous rotations)
-
3d processing:
-
Povray 3 interfacing
-
Apply 3d transition to: (1) every corresponding
frame of the animation, (2) only the start frame (useful to move plasma
in 3d to generate landscapes that move/rotate or grow up from ground or
both), or (3) any GIF file you select
-
3d fill type selection
-
Light source parameters, fixed: smoothing
factor; variable: light vector X/Y/Z (that is, you move the direction of
the light during animation), ambient
-
Plain 3d projection, variable parameters:
scaleX/Y, roughness, rotationX/Y
-
Spherical projection, variable parameters:
scale X/Y, roughness, latitutde start/stop, longitude start/stop, radius
-
The program generates a FLI/FLC file
using a little (but powerful) DOS program, DTA 2.02, that generates the
final animation. DTA is a command-line program. Through Freego you can
set these animation options:
-
ping-pong (make the animation and then add
again all the frames in inverted order)
-
Insert 1 averaged frame every 2 regular frames
-
Dithering options: (1) no dither, (2) Floyd-Steinberg,
(3) Sierra Lite filter, (4) Random noise
