"Kill Me Before I Do It Myself"

Friday november 23th at 7.00 p.m. in Via Bocconi 9, Milan, it will open the solo show of the norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard. During the opening there will be a performance with the artist and the musician Frost.

Bjarne Melgaard comes to Milan bringing us the fascinating and perverse world of scandinavian Black Metal music. Infact the theme of the exhibition will be this musical movement and its context: the dark aesthetics and its poetical aspects, its drama, its origin in the lower classes, its reference to norwegian paganism.

The gallery, completely painted in black and lighted only by torches, will be the set for a performance where Frost (drums player of Satyricon, the most rappresentative black metal band in Norway) will practice some autolesionistic actions: pagan rites will mix with aggressive behaviors tipical of a generation grown up under the uniformity imposed by norwegian socialdemocracy.

During the performance an american troupe will film some scenes for the movie "Until the light takes us", a project that follows Melgaard everywhere he makes a show related to the Dark culture.

In the gallery there will be exhibited also some drawings, canvases and scolptures which will develop and make more clear the themes and the atmospheres of the performance and the personal voyage that the young norwegian artist in making inside a hidden and suggestive world.
