They frist talked about Sannicandro back in 1095. Frederick
II built a Palace there. The historic centre is very nice,
especially the Court of S. Giorgio shich faces the borough
of Terravecchia. A must: church of Madonna di Costantinopoli,
the Cathedral (1535) and the Castle (1400) which has been
rebuilt over the centuries. The CARSICO fenomenon is typical
of this territory: in paricular Pian della Macina and
"Dolina Pozzatina", one of the biggest italian
natural Karst formation. |
