Something about me

Hello. My name is Gianluca Paniccia, I was born in 1971 in Lazio region but I lived in Marche (at Centobuchi, that means one hundred holes), and now in Martinsicuro, a small coastal village in Abruzzo, centern Italy.

As you will know, I'm married with Valentina, I graduated in business, administration and economics at Ancona University and I'm working as junior accountant.

Please note that despite the fact that there are a lot of Paniccia and Maiuri (my mom's surname) in the US, they probably aren't relatives of my family (but I I'm not sure of that).

My first 18 years..

I was born in Frosinone (south of Rome) in the evening of friday the 29th of july, 1971.

nowadays I'm a more balanced boy

Then my family moved along the roman Salaria road (the salt way from Adriatic sea to Rome) to the south of Marche, where I spent my youth toghether with my younger brother and sister, playing and studying.

I attended the secondary school in San Benedetto del Tronto at the local Liceo Scientifico (despite the name it provides a more classical education, such as latin, philosophy, history and of course italian, one foreign language, math, phisychs, geography).

In the meantime I took interest in basketball and at the beginning I supported two teams from nearby cities (Roseto degli Abruzzi and Porto S.Giorgio) that were acting in serie A; I played in a local team and, discovering that I wasn't as good as I expected, I preferred to follow my team as journalist, scout-reporter and in the press front office.

... reaching the age of 30 ...

My studies have run a bit slowly because I was deep involved in my activity in Sambasket team and as freelance for local newspapers and magazines (even I performed some radio-commentary and a Tv-commentary); I enyojed very much travelling around Italy with the team and we were about to reach the serie B. We didn't succeed and the history suddenly (and sadly) finished.

In summertime I spent (and I still spend) my time playing beach-volley, even during the warmest hours of the day, with a lot of friend coming from every part of Italy to Martinsicuro.

On july 1996 I was called up for the compulsory military service, which I carried out as officer (lieutenant) in the anti-aircraft artillery army: I stayed 5 months (for the course) at Sabaudia and 10 months at Rimini.

now call me "doctor", please

On april 1998 I took my degree, discussing a thesis on the macro-economic situation of aquacolture branch in Italy ; just after a month I was engaged by a local firm that produces house-hold linen such as table-cloth, blanckets, bed-sheets, sponges etc where I've been working for 14 months since last august. I was employed as all-around clerk (commercial, logistic, production and even operator).

I still live in Centobuchi di Monteprandone and in 1999 I took part in the local comunity elections but my party (you may visit our web site , in italian, designed by me) named Democrazia e Partecipazione has been defeated by the former mayor. You can discover more information about my region travelling through my links or my pages (only in italian, for the moment)

Then I've been working for a qualified firm that designes and produces prefabricated industrial buildings, with structural components in steel and/or in cement, offering turnkey implementation too.

Nowadays I'm employed as junior accountant in the general administration and accounts section of a firm (Sofer Carpenterie srl) based in Colonnella (TE) that works steel for reinforced concrete.

 ... and my future
