Palazzo Reale

It is the biggest place for exposing, it was rebuilt in 1772-78, took pieces of Visconti’s coort

In Piazza del Duomo there is the “living-room of Milan”, it is a structure with four arms and a central dome. It was inaugurate by Vittorio Emanuele, it comunics Piazza del Duomo with Via Manzoni

San Lorenzo Maggiore

This church has got a central plan, it was rebuilt many times; in 1573 the dome was rebuilt. There are unique mosaics in S. Antony’s Chapel

Sant’Eustorgio

This basilic conserves the belfry, which is built in XII. The church has got a link with the history of the Magi’s reliques the Saint bring them in Milan

Teatro alla Scala

It is the lirical mondial temple, it was built on the destroy church of Santa Maria della Scala. Inside there is the beautiful wooden room with two galleries; it has got a wonderful acoustics

Villa Reale

In this villa were stayed Napoleon, General Radetzky, Napoleon III; it passed to Milan and the city utilizes this building for civil weddings. It gives hospitality to a picture-collection of modern art

It is the third big church in the world. It was built from 1386 to our days. On the highest spire there is the famous little Madonna which is the simbol of the city

Palazzo Marino

It was planned in XIV century. It is the Commune of the city, and here was born a Marino’s niece, Marianna de Leyva, who inspired the Manzoni’s character of the nun of Monza

 San Nazaro Maggiore

It is near the University and the main door in Porta Romana is precedutes of Trivulzio Chapel. There is the Bernardino Lanino’s masterpiece and some Daniele Crespi’s frescos

Sant’ Ambrogio

Iot is one of the oldest basilics in the city, it is the simbol of the autonomy in the city. Inside there is the pergamo, in the third campata, the Gold altar which was built by Volvinio: it has got gold and silver leaves, it rappresents the Christ and S. Ambrogio’s life

Santa Maria delle Grazie

It was built at the end of 1400. In the presbyterythere is the wood inlaid choir.There is a small cloister and an old Sacristy

Colonne di San Lorenzo

In front of San Lorenzo church there are 16 corinthian columns, they are 8,50 high and they came from a temple which was built on II-III century

Torre Velasca

It has got 26 floors in concrete; it has got a particular conformation: the cap with 6 floors is jutting unlike the whole structure. It reminds a big medieval tower

Museo del Duomo

There are sculture, windows from the Duomo, models, sketches. They  told us the story to built the cathedral

Museo Teatrale alla Scala

It talks about the story of the liric theatre through scores, autographs, scenaries, costums and instruments. A part of the thestre is dedicated to Verdi

Museo Poldi Pezzoli

This museum gives hospitality to italian pictures of Piero del Pollaiolo, Botticelli, Mantegna, There are also sculture and a big collection pf clocks

Museo Civico di Storia Naturale

There are sections of mineralogy, geology, panteology, zoology and botanic. Thare are recostruction and diorami of natural ambients with their animals

Planetario Ulrico Hoepli

You could see the starry sky. On the dome there are printed the stars and the planets with their traiettory and the season positions

Museo della Scienza e della Tecnica Leonardo da Vinci

It is in the ex San Vittore monastery, it is suddivided in 28 tematic sections. The most famous section is the Leonardo da Vinci one. There is the Navy Museum, with models from Christofer Colombo’s Caravelle to the contemporaney war ships

Cenacolo Vinciniano

On the back wall of the refectory in the dominican monastery next to Santa Maria delle Grazie, Leonardo painted from 1495 to 1497, l’Ultima Cena. The Leonardo’s tecnic and the condition of the environment make a very difficult conservation

Musei del Castello Sforzesco

The castle shows a lot of museums expecially in the docal cohort. In the Old Art Collection there is the Pietà Rondanini, by Michelangelo. The art gallery has got pictures of Mantegna, Bellini, Foppa, Tintoretto. There are weapons collections, instruments and potteries

Pinacoteca di Brera

It has been opened to the pubblic since 1809, it has got a lot of collections which gather italian masterpeaces from 1400 to 1900. The most important pictures are Cristo Morto by Mantegna, Madonna del Duca Federico by Piero della Francesca, Sposalizio della Vergine by Raffaello, Madonna e Santi by Foppa, Madonna con Bambino by Lorenzetti, Cristo alla colonna by Bramante, Cena di Emmaus by Caravaggio, Bacio by Hayez, Carro Rosso by Fattori. There are also pictures by Modigliani, Boccioni, Moranti, Rosso, Picasso, Braque
