The pratice to support is a phenomenon associated to the sport from the age of the Olympic Games in ancient Greece. In Europe above all it is associated to soccer because it is the most famous sport. The organized clubs began to diffuse from Italy since years sixty.

 

                                                     

The first groups ultrā were born between the 60’s and the 70’s. The ultrā are persons between the 15 and 30 years. They support the team with bugles, drums, scarves, choruses: they encourage the own players and they intimidate the adversaries.

The pratice to support is considered one tactical in order to gain the encounter: he becomes the " twelfth player ". The articles pyrotechnicians are used for giving more vivacity, above all in Italy.  

                                                       

The Gradinata Nord of Genoa and the Fiesole Curve of Florence are the most famous. In the last years the phenomena of violence in the stages are frequent but it must emphasize their extraneity with the pratice to support.
