Dipole

Dipole A dipole is an antenna made by two wires, each long about 1/4 of the signal wavelength, or lambda.
They are used mainly on lower bands, between 1 and 10 MHz, because here other antenna designs are not practical. However, they can be designed for any frequencies and are very simple to set up. When using an unbalanced feeding line, such as a coaxial cable, it is better to use a balun at the feeding point.
