"Wine rejoices the sad, revives the old, inspires the young and makes us forget our tire and weariness."
Lord Byron (1788-1824)

To confirm that Byron was right, ITALIAN COLORS thought to dedicate an itinerary entirely to wine and in particular the best wines in the northern regions of Italy. Their names are known throughout the world:
Barolo, Barbaresco, Valpolicella, Amarone and Ribolla.
We will suggest which food will best compliment the wine allowing your palate to experience the best of both worlds.

Together with vintage wines you'll be able to taste the famous cheeses in Piemonte and Langhe like Castelmagno, Murazzano, Tome, and truffles when in season.
When your stomach and palate are satisfied we want to satiate your mind with the beauty of this region through its artistry of the northern cities that are rich in tradition and history.

You cross the gentle hills of Langhe to Lake Como to the medieval Bergamo filled with renaissance and baroque architecture.
Romantic Verona, known as "Little Rome" for its importance during the empire, is surrounded by the serenity of the Valpolicella countryside.

We head north east to Treviso, known as "Little Venice" an elegant and picturesque town.
As we get closer to the border towns of Gorizia and Trieste, you will begin to see cities with multi-ethnic culture untouched by mass tourism.

This historical area use to mark the boundaries of the Austrian Empire, which ended just after WWI.
This region is a unique mixture of Jewish, Slavic and Austrian people, unlike anywhere else in Italy.

You can taste it all just sitting in a private cantina of Collio where reigns the wine and hospitality of all the people who live in the border towns.
You will sip the most delicious coffee sitting al fresco in the Café Trieste, which use to be the favorite meeting place of poets like Joyce and Kafka.
From Miramare Castle, a testimony to the splendor of the Hapsburg Family, you will take in the rugged beauty of the Adriatic Sea.

This trip will help you relax as you enjoy the warmth of the locals and explore the diversity of Italy.
