"The Sicilian farmers who have harvested their wheat and made their homemade bread.
Ah, it is amazing how their loaf of bread tastes so fresh, sweet and genuine!".

Upon arrival in Palermo you will spend the day visiting palaces and churches with vast cultural influences and diversity, from Byzantine style mosaics to medieval cathedrals.
Day 2 you continue on to the Sicilian provinces, stopping first at Cefalu', a medieval coastal town built on the site of an ancient Sicanian and Greek settlement. In Monreal you will visit the beautiful mosaics of its majestic cathedral, said to be amongst the worlds largest display. You will be in awe looking at a perfect blend of Byzantine, Arab and Norman art and architectural styles.

In the ancient city of Segesta you will see how well preserved the Greek architectural monuments are, made even more spectacular in their idyllic settings. In Trapani, its' name derived from the ancient word for "hook", for the shape of its harbor, is an important fishing village. Its' westward position gives it an especially sensational view of Mediterranean sunsets. The surrounding coastal plains are rich in salt deposits that are ground by the many windmills that can be seen along its coast, giving it a rather Dutch appearance.

The charming medieval town of Erice is located on the sacred mountain of Mt. San Giuliano a religious location associated with the goddess of fertility.
It is also the home of a world-renowned school of crystallography, visited by scientists and physicists from all over the world.

San Vito lo Capo at the northwestern tip offers beautiful beaches, walking tours and horseback riding. You can take an easy 2-˝ hour walk along the coastal trail visiting caves and secluded beaches, or for the more adventurous a hike up the mountain is well worth the climb just to view the sea below.
It is said that Marsala gained its importance during the Renaissance because Garibaldi sailed to its' port and conquered Sicily. Today it's famous for the Marsala Wine discovered by John Woodhouse in the 1700's. It's white mountains of salt, windmills, diversity of migratory birds sets a landscape of nature's art.

To be in Selinunte is like visiting the past through the eyes of the Gods. Home of Hera and Zeus, lords of the sky, is said to account for its' cobalt colored skies. 'Selinon' the divine plant of celery is hallowed to Apollo, the god of medicine and the name Selinus said to have been derived from the river of the same name as well as the name of Neptune's son.
Agrigento is a quaint medieval city overlooking Sicily's southern coast, notable for its Greek remains and Doric temples, which stand in The Valley of the Temples in the ancient city of Akragas founded in the 6th century B.C. This province best represents the transition from ancient to modern Sicily.

Your last stop before leaving this heavenly island is Favignana known for its annual tuna festival and a July music festival 'Luglio musicale Tranese'.
It is a blissful way to end your tour of Sicily, relaxing on its' serene beaches enjoying natures' finest gastronomical, enological and visual offerings.
