In order to run Java, you will need a copy of the Universal Font Library (UFL) installed that supports both FNT1 and FNT2. Java no longer includes its own custom fonts.
Currently the only UFL library that supports both FNT1 and FNT2 is level 3. As such, you must install `ufl3.lib'. You must obtain the actual UFL package for this library as well as usage instructions, access routines, and the font maintenance library.
These should be available at the standard HP48 FTP sites, or at http://www.engr.uvic.ca/~aschoorl/ufl/
