an ancient, naturally developed cat native to Thailand."

 

Korat Cats International is a worldwide organisation with members from four continents and many different countries who represent all major registries in the world. This is truly and international organisation. Although not directly affiliated with any pedigreed cat registry, KCI, with its international scope, can influence and educate many who are involved with the Korat cat.

KCI is a progressive organisation open to new members. It will firmly uphold the Thai traditions of the Korat, ensuring that the Si Sawat is presented only as a silver-blue cat. Mentorship between experienced Korat breeders and the new owners and breeders will be encouraged and the Korat breed will be actively promoted to the public and the cat fancy.

KCI will embrace advances in veterinary care and diagnosis so that we may better provide for our Korats, now and in the future. This will include testing of breed stock for genetic diseases which, if left undetected, could compromise the health and vitality of the breed.
Finally, KCI will foster communication between Korat owners and breeders via any method available, especially our quarterly newsletter, the internet and the world wide web.

KCI promotes the free exchange of pedigree information and will maintain a centralised Korat database which will be available to all members.
