FIRST CAT
Tupphalaphet (Weakness)

"A white body, the eyes like chewed betel
As if applied with blood
Will make off with a fish every night
This cat of weakness is trouble and waste"

SECOND CAT
Phan Phayak or Lai Seua (Tiger Breed)

"The tiger breed has a body of tiger stripes
Fur as dipped sald water and rice husks
The eyes and ears like mixed buddling slime
The voice like a ghost shriek, calling the land to destruction"

THIRD CAT
Pisaat (Fiend)

"These fiends bring evil
Gives birth, and eats its kittens with no exception
Kinked tail like an hearth snake, twisted
Rough looking fur, wasted flesh, only skin"

FOURTH CAT
Hin Thot (Bad Stone)

"Cruel bad stone, of these features
Gives birth, and the kittens are dead from the womb
Its habits appear evil
Dangers corrupt, bad things come to stay"

FIFTH CAT
Korp Phlerng (Fire Raiser)

"He lies in barns and hides in outhouses
See people avoid it and run away
The Fire RAiser name tells
Its malevolent character, true evil strikes"

SIXTH CAT
Nep Satian (Danger)

"With its evil cutting name, happy at hardship
Marks on its tail show evil
Bizzarre forms of five kinds
Do not riese this cat - your house will lose"

The following verses show the evil of the bad cats:

"The stony breed, the weaking frame
The subtle science of scriptures says
Do not take on bad things
Wealth and rank of the owner will vanish

Cats with these features of their bodies
Tails crooked like hooks bring bad
Like a destroyed gemstone, as said
Let them go, do not think to raise them

The seventeen perfect characteristics
Have made their name, as stated
Six bad kinds make up the rest
Twenty-three breeds together carry on to behold"
