Introduction
to La Caletta
La
Caletta was originally a little village on the North Eastern
coast of Sardinia, which extended through the age and became
the mainly tourist village as we know it now. It was ideally
situated to adapt itself to the increasing number of people
visiting the Sardinian coasts to admire the sea and the typical
landscape. La
Caletta has not the statute of a city, but is run as part of
the municipality of Posada in Siniscola.
It
has many attributes such as its three beaches which are situated
among pinewoods, two of which, the “northern beach” and the
"southern beach" are about four kilometres long. There
is also a large harbour from where you may rent a boat or go
sightseeing with organised tours, etc.
The sea is not the only
attraction for the tourist as "Monte Longu"is nearby
from which if you climb to the top you will be able to
enjoy a beautiful unique view… But
this is not the end! you will be able to have a walk through
the town (part closed to the traffic) where it is possible to
enjoy the ristorantes and bars or buy until late in the evening
every kind of product including those typical to the region
such as the famous "torrone di Tonara" (nougat)
exported all over the world. There are also from time
to time various artistic plays, open air exhibitions and traditional
folk dancing organised by the town.
If you do not know
