 The southern beach

It’s been decades that the southern beach represents a place where tourists and visitors go to enjoy a beautiful and welcoming sea. The characteristics are:

  • An extension of four kilometres from La Caletta till Santa Lucia, known for its camping place.
  • Easy to reach from every part: it is in fact very close to La Caletta.
  • A large beach with fine sand all along; kids will enjoy building up castles!
  • Level of water is quite low (and very low in some areas) for a long distance from the riverside; ideal for kids and aged people (and those who can not swim!).
  • Water is uncontaminated and limpid (except when in motion).
  • A close pinewood for a long distance and a bar reachable from the beach.
  • Little fishes.
  • Some red rocks located in St. Lucia.

The northern beach

This beach is very similar to the southern beach and offers other peculiarities and attract many people. Here are the characteristics:

  • An extension of four kilometres from "San Giovanni" of La Caletta till the area of Posada.
  • Facility of access.
  • A large beach, fine sand for all the distance.
  • Level of water is almost low (and very low in certain area) for a long distance from the riverside.
  • Water is uncontaminated and limpid (except when in motion).
  • You can see a multicoloured sea.
  • A pinewood all along the beach for a long distance.
  • Little fishes.
  • Some red rocks located in San Giovanni.

The pictures of the last line show the lagoon located behind the beach. In others you can see Posada which is situated on the top of a hill with its castle named "Castello della Fava" also to visit.

The tower beach

Located among the rocks of the opposite side of the northern beach, this beach is quite different from the others. It is actually shorter, however its sand is similar to the other two. Like the others, it has a pinewood in proportion to its dimension. Here are the characteristics

  • An extension of 200 metres or so.
  • Easy to reach.
  • Fine sand.
  • Level of water grows proportionally to the distance towards the open sea, so it is deeper than the other two.
  • Water is uncontaminated and limpid (except when in motion).
  • A close pinewood for a distance proportionally to the beach.
  • Little fishes.
  • Some red rocks.

You will find a little old chapel very close to the beach (see picture) where the mass is occasionally celebrated outside.

At the opposite side of the beach stands an aragonese tower (see picture) from the XVI century, a period in which it was necessary to secure a strategic point of observation against casual enemies or invasions...

All three pictures "pinewood little beach", "little beach 1" e " little beach 2" have been taken from the same position but from a different  edge in order to give a panoramic point of view at first sight.
