In the first room the Antiquarium
holds ichonographic reproductions from xviii to xix century.
There are reproductions about Athenian Rock and about temples,
with some general views of hills on which there was Necropolis'
irregular late, seen by different visual angles.
Apart from drawings of typical Greek house and planimetric views
of ancient Sicily, by Cluverio, there are details from doric styles
(capital, pillar, etc.) and compositions and draws about the real
structure of a doric temple.
In the second room we can find, among the others, a map about
Juno' s temple and the sight of a longitudinal section of the
temple of Concordia, with a skatch about inner decorations, the
reconstruction of the sanctuary of chthonic divinity and maps
of the hypogeum.
From passages about Goethe' s holiday in Agrigento, can be caught
motives which inspired the choice and the contents of this Antiquarium.
First of all the exceptionality of the inseparable outfit of the
historic values and the tradition and the art of this "holy
hill".
The birth of this Antiquarium gave the starting signal to the
working of recuperation of the rural architecture complex in its
characteristic whole (garden, courtyard, farmer house) destined
to collect the ichonographic documentation about the hill and
its monuments, their restoration in time and about the interpretation
by viewers from xviii and xix century.
