Walking along the avenue which brings to temples, when you get to the temple of Concorde, turn left and you can see an old house, Casa Pace, now an Antiquarium.
The Antiquarium has four rooms, in two floors, where there are didactic panels.
First and second floor are dedicated to religious places. In fact we can find didactic panels about hipogea and explanation about Gela, Licata, Palma di Montechiaro, Canicattì, Naro and Favara, including a planimetry about the ancient town Akragas.
In the first room we can see fragments of marble transenna and fragments of capitals coming from the urban basilica area. Very beautiful is also a mould of marble pluteus with decorated relief: in its center there is a date-palm full of fruits symbolizing the life-tree. Among the others there are African oil-lamps and a marble little head from iv century A.D.
In the second room there is a rectangular case sarcophagus, decorated only on the front, produced probably in Carthago in v century A.D.
Third and fourth room show didactic panels about Byzantine necropolises with photos, drawings and planimetry and some achrome little jugs coming from various hipogea.
The Antiquarium, very interesting, is to be considered inseparable from Valley of Temples, as it explains to visitors, through its words and pictures, the "jewels" of ancient civilization.
